Carbon Dioxide – Problem Solved

Carbon dioxide is a colorless and odorless gas vital to life on Earth. This naturally occurring chemical compound is composed of a carbon atom covalently double bonded to two oxygen atoms. Carbon dioxide exists in Earth’s atmosphere as a trace gas at a concentration of about 0.04 percent by volume. Natural sources include volcanoes, hot springs and geysers, and it is freed from carbonate rocks by dissolution in water and acids. Because carbon dioxide is soluble in water, it occurs naturally in groundwater, rivers and lakes, in ice caps and glaciers and also in seawater. It is present in deposits of petroleum and natural gas.

Carbon Dioxide is the “Green House” gas that everyone is trying to reduce; the Global Warming crowd thinks it is more dangerous than ISIS and Islamic Terrorists in general.

Whenever we take a breath, we exhale Carbon Dioxide and if we are in a closed chamber, eventually, the oxygen in the space will be converted to Carbon Dioxide and the flame will go out.

What if there was a device that could separate the carbon atom from the two oxygen atoms in real time? What if the carbon atoms could be stored in the device as a form of soot and the oxygen atoms could be released for breathing or re-breathing or for other oxygen needy process.

There is a way to quickly and easily dissolve the covalently double bonded carbon atom from the two oxygen atoms and this new device uses Direct Current (DC) from a small battery or from solar power.
With this device, miners could breathe the air over and over again. Divers would be able to breathe the same air over and over again as well; no exhaled bubbles escaping to give their position away.
This device can be scaled up; it can be put into the tops of smoke stacks and convert the CO2 into Oxygen as it leaves the factory. This device can be used to convert any Carbon Dioxide emissions into pure carbon soot and pure oxygen quickly, easily and cheaply.

The biggest problem with this new technology is that it releases pure oxygen which is very flammable. Gasoline and Diesel engines would have to be redesigned to separate the oxygen out from the carbon dioxide and flow it back to the air intake; this would dramatically improve the efficiency and torque of the engines.

Oddly enough, this new technology will make fossil fuels safe for the planet again. So…Solar Panels and Wind Farms will still have their place, but won’t have to be looked at as the savior. Fossil fuels are plentiful and inexpensive to bring to market and this technology will allow us to use them for as long as it is logical.

Could the carbon soot be used as fertilizer for vegetation?

    • Merln says:

Plants get their carbon from carbon dioxide, mostly.
But, yes, it could be mixed with water/grow chems and
sprayed on plants. Better used for making steel, carbon
      fiber and graphene types.

How specifically do you make steel with carbon soot?

        • Merln says:

Interesting. Simple, add a binding agent, like resin or thick lubricant, to the carbon before adding it to the molten iron with oxygen. Depending on the binding agent used, you will have different properties
in the steel output. Carbon is what makes iron into steel, mostly.
